So I was at a MX track having a blast, until I landed flat on a table-top and broke the suspension linkage.
Not only did the suspension linkage take a dive, when it broke, it allowed the swingarm to travel further up than normal. The shaft in the rear shock bent! Ouch!
At this point, I was a little upset. This is a Factory Connection setup, and now it's busted! A new shock from Yamaha costs over $1,000. There were no used shocks to be found on Craigslist. eBay was the next choice.
I ended up finding a used shock for $125. I also found a linkage on eBay that was affixed to the complete rear suspension for $100.
I called Factory Connection, sent them my front forks, bent rear shock, eBay shock, and they fixed me up for a few hundred bucks.
While I was it, I replaced all the bearings in the rear-end and put a new rear wheel on it. I had never trued a spoked wheel before, and I think I did a pretty good job. I'll post the video later.
