I left Sturgis and made way towards Kansas City. It was a long haul, and I ended up stopping in Omaha, NE for the night. On the way out of Sturgis though, I had to buy a $105 souvenir in the form of a speeding ticket courtesy of the South Dakota Highway Patrol on I-90. Mutter. I had done so well so keep the needle under 10 mph over the limit up until then. I just felt the need for some speed. Everywhere else in South Dakota, the interstate speed is 80 mph, except Sturgis. Conveniently, the speed limit is 65. Obviously, the State needed some revenue and decided to capitalize on passers-by. I'm (un)happy to support my fellow Americans from South Dakota.
