Man, they are plain and plane. Nothing but pasture, grass, wheat fields, and the occasional corn field. Flat as a pancake for as far as you can see. An occasional hill breaks the monotony. But, I'm on the road and heading towards the Big Horn Mountains in a couple of days. After that is the coveted Yellowstone. All is well.
I left Minneapolist this morning dreary-eyed and sleepy because I stayed up late with my friends to witness Ramadan with them. The first stop was at Great Day Cafe for some really good corned beef hash. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture. They are also known for an apple pie souffle, but I don't think it was that good.
Then, I slabbed I-94 west over to US 10 until Fargo. Even on US 10 the speed limit is 75 which enabled me to cover some ground. It rained off and on, but eventually, it cleared up after lunch to sunny and 85. Finally!
While in Fargo, I stopped at this place called Passage to India and had the best Indian buffet ever! In Fargo, North Dakota of all places!
Back on the road with great weather, I slabbed it on I-94 all the plain way to Bismarck, ND where I made camp at General Sibley Park for $12. Yes, $12. That's the least expensive campground yet, and it's nice too. It actually remind's me of a community park but with camp sites.
I rode 434 miles today on about 5 hours of sleep. Good night.
